Yo Dave! Just came to this article from your latest article on finding a job going full time. Sorry for coming to the party late!

Why did you decide to work full-time now just a couple months after you wrote this article? Just trying to understand what happened from then to now as many of us also wonder about doing this full-time.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Esp. with the part-time blogging / full-time on the feet job. I’m planning on being full-time one day. But it’s hard with my current circumstances. I’ve often thought about taking the same route you did to get the health insurance. Good to hear your thoughts that it’s still difficult. Nice job, congrats to you! As for other full-time bloggers, well, I know that Jason from FrugalDad mentioned in one of his posts that he’s getting there! Right now I’m more in the stage of having that nice extra monthly debt payment. I don’t expect my site to take me “full-time”, but I do have strong growth goals for it, and so far the hard work has been paying off, albeit with a bit of lagtime. Also, that’s a really amazing state slogan for Maine:)

Congrats on going full time (and getting married, etc. etc.)! I’m glad to see this working so well for you.

There is actually something I’ve always been curious about–file this under “questions that seemed too stupid to ask”–but could you do a post sometime outlining the ins and outs of 401k vesting? For example, I know that I have a 401k that vests on a 5 year schdule (20% per year), but if the *investments* themselves go up or down, am I a) responsible for paying on gains, such as if the match was $1000 but is now worth $1200, do I have to pay the unvested of the total or the initial investment? and b) other side of the coin, does my employer share in losses or am I responsible for returning all the original principal?

There are probably more vagarities I don’t quite understand too.
