Yesterday I purchased the personal finance page at MillionDollarWiki.com. What is it, and why did I buy it?
The Million Dollar Wiki is a new wiki site that allows the public to purchase unique pages for any purpose. Page owners can leave the page open to public contributions and edits on a topic (like a traditional wiki) or choose to display their own content that is not editable.
The wiki gets its name, I presume, from the owner’s goal to make a $1,000,000 selling pages, similar to the Million Dollar Homepage.
When I discovered the page for personal finance was still available, I snapped it up for $100. At the moment I will just use it as a jump page to this blog to take advantage of readers surfing Million Dollar Wiki.
Another thing about Million Dollar Wiki pages, however, is that they can be resold. The business page recently sold on eBay to a non-profit using it to promote socially responsible business. Who knows? The page could turn out to be an investment.
I am also publishing a call for personal finance tips from other writers that will be featured for up to a week on my personal finance Million Dollar Wiki page.
The page just went up, so it’s hard to say what kind of traffic it will get, but Million Dollar Wiki seems to be gaining popularity and I estimate a page there will have the potential to bring in a couple hundred or even a couple thousand visitors a week.
You can submit a tip for my page, and I will create a queue. At first I will put each tip up for a week, then, depending on traffic and number of submissions, will reevaluate how often I update the tips.
I'm David Weliver. At 26, I had NO savings and NO financial plan. I was maxed out, stressed out, and fed up. Then, I changed. I repaid $80k of debt, tripled my income, and bought a home. I'll show you how to get similar results.
Interesting. I think you may have made a nice little investment! It will be interesting to see what happens, especially if the site could ever get near 1,00,000.
Nice site it has a great feel, keep up the good work.
David To be honest, i think you have thrown away $100 on this rubbish website. You could of given it to me and i would of drank it and pissed it up against a wall somewhere, because thats all the value you will get from MillionDollarWiki.com. For gooness sake – its not even listed when you type the name into google… David, Do you honestly think for one second that this site is anything but a quick money making fad for the guy who owns it and by the way – why do you think he was trying to sell it after a few months – hint – because its a waste of time and like so many other quick money making scams in the past – it will be forgotten in a month.. pity you didnt ask me if i wanted your $100….
