Tree-Hugging Spenders Rejoice: At Last, A Green Credit Card

The new GE Money Earth Rewards credit card should have Prius-drivers smiling.

In lieu of the popular cash back rewards many credit cards offer these days, this new GE Money Earth Rewards MasterCard donates 1% of your purchases to climate change research and projects.

If you feel like saving some of those rewards for yourself to stock up on some more energy efficient light bulbs, you can choose to donate ½% and keep ½%.

It’s also refreshing to see a credit card that isn’t the same old points and rewards trying to disguise an egregiously high regular interest rate: The Earth Rewards card’s regular APRs start as low as 7.74% and max out at prime plus 4.74% depending on your credit.

The card has no annual fee and, of course, requires paperless statements.
