Weekly Roundup for Aug 22, 2008

The summer sun is shining here in the Boston area today, but the days are getting shorter and there has been a chill in the air the last few nights that can only mean one thing: September’s right around the corner. In this week’s weekly roundup I feature a few of my favorite articles from the week, the first of which are especially suited for students returning to school.

Back-to-school financial wisdom

  • Financial tips for students entering college at Consumerism Commentary. In my opinion, financial lessons are best learned before you get to college. This is so important!
  • Freshman Finance 101 at Kiplinger.com. More valuable lessons for incoming students.
  • “My college sold me out” at Twenties Money Mag. Explains how some colleges profit from allowing credit card marketers access to their students.
  • 25 Tips, Ideas, Resources for Having Fun for College Students at Broke Grad Student. How to have fun without phoning home to mom and dad for money!

Money Under 30 in the news
