Weekly Roundup for Aug 22, 2008
The summer sun is shining here in the Boston area today, but the days are getting shorter and there has been a chill in the air the last few nights that can only mean one thing: September’s right around the corner. In this week’s weekly roundup I feature a few of my favorite articles from the week, the first of which are especially suited for students returning to school.
Back-to-school financial wisdom
- Financial tips for students entering college at Consumerism Commentary. In my opinion, financial lessons are best learned before you get to college. This is so important!
- Freshman Finance 101 at Kiplinger.com. More valuable lessons for incoming students.
- “My college sold me out” at Twenties Money Mag. Explains how some colleges profit from allowing credit card marketers access to their students.
- 25 Tips, Ideas, Resources for Having Fun for College Students at Broke Grad Student. How to have fun without phoning home to mom and dad for money!
Money Under 30 in the news
Money Under 30’s emergency fund calculator tool was featured in both this week’s Carnival of Personal Finance, and also by blogger Katy Marquardt at US News & World Report’s Blog: New Money. Thanks!
