Check out this review of, an online lending portal that connects borrowers with the lenders that can give them loans.

Personal loans are the answer for so many people who are struggling with finances. From car payments to funding an event, a loan can give you the cash you need to cover expenses. Finding lenders, getting approved, and understanding the system is not simple though, which is why a service like is such a godsend. offers borrowers a chance to get loans from $500 – $10,000. These installment loans can be paid out over the course of 90 days to 72 months, and the APRs generally range from 5.99% – 35.99%, the industry average.

With 1 million monthly users, a streamlined online system, and excellent financial education resources, there are a lot of reasons to praise I wanted to see whether or not this service is everything it claims to be, so I signed up and tested it out. Here’s how things turned out.

How Work

How Work

1: Submit a request for your loan online

I started the process by filling out the short online loan request form. The online form is similar to any other online lending portal. It’s broken up into four steps. Step one asks basic questions:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Zip code
  • Whether or not you’re an active member of the military
  • The amount you’re requesting for a loan

Step two: asks more details including:

  • Phone number
  • Physical address
  • Whether or not you own your house
  • How long you’ve been living there
  • Income source
  • How long you’ve been employed at this job
  • How often you get paid
  • Name of employer
  • Employer’s phone number
  • How much you make per month
  • Driver’s license/ID
  • Social security number
  • Bank account type

Finally, you’ll move onto step three, where you’ll provide your bank account information, whether or not you own a car, if you are paid by direct deposit, and what your official job title is.

While it looks like a lot in list form, the entire loan request process only takes a few minutes. It’s all done online, which is one of the biggest benefits of using a service like No running around to different offices or dealing with annoying in-person meetings. Everything is on the computer. It’s faster, easier, and less confrontational, so it’s no surprise that this system is so popular.

2: Receive offers from actual lenders

After you click submit, your loan request will be sent out to the network of lenders. A convenient online form is a big perk, but what’s even more convenient, is that your online form will automatically be sent out to a number of lenders. Instead of you having to go from one lender to the next (in person or online) and filling out the same forms each time, sends out your loan request to the lenders in its network that are relevant to you, saving you untold heartache and precious time.

Relevant Lenders

What do I mean by relevant lenders? Well, each lender has its own criteria for giving out loans. For example, some lenders will only let you take out a minimum of $5,000 as a loan. If you’re looking for a small $500 loan to just cover expenses during a dry spell, you don’t want to deal with a large loan like that. That’s what makes so great to work with. This service will sift through its lenders and attempt to connect you with a loan offer that makes sense for your requirements.

3: Peruse, review, and accept the loan terms

Next is one of the most exciting steps (aside from actually getting and spending your money, of course). You’re going to get a loan offer from an actual lender, if approved. That means that someone who wants to give you money is going to contact you with a proposal. You can look over the terms of the loan proposal before you decide to accept, and think about whether it really fits your needs. If it doesn’t, you are completely free to decline the loan offer and start the process again in the hopes of getting a different offer.

4: Get your loan and thank CashUSA (optional)

If you like the loan that is presented to you, then you will be directly connected to the lender itself. This is where you and part ways. It has helped you get this far, and now you are being left in the hands of one of’s trusted affiliates. At this point, you’re not under any contractual agreement with the lender. Until you actually sign the contract, you can still walk away from the loan offer without any penalty, charges, or fees. And since’s services are totally free, that means if you walk away from a loan at this stage, you don’t have to pay a cent to anyone.

When everything is clear, you can use the lender’s e-signature form to finalize the loan. An e-signature is a convenient way for you to give consent without the headache of printing out a form, signing on the dotted line, scanning it into the computer, and sending it back to the lender. One more advantage built into the service.

Review the Terms and Conditions!

Before you sign on the electronic line though, it’s really important that you go over the terms and conditions you’re signing up for. Every lender has its own policies in terms of repayments, APRs, late payment fees, early repayment fees, and more, and you don’t want to get stuck paying something outlandish because you weren’t aware of the terms. does its best to work exclusively with fair and honest lenders, but ultimately, the responsibility to check that the terms of service and individual lender policies are in line with your needs falls onto your shoulders.

Take a few minutes to read the legalities of the contract, the policies of the site, and the terms of your actual loan, so you aren’t caught unaware and holding a giant bill you didn’t realize you were signing up for.

Once you’ve agreed to the loan, signed the contract, and finalized the last details, the money is yours. You can usually receive your cash in as little as the next business day, though each lender will set its own transaction time frame.

Pros & Cons

  • Variety of offers — Allows you to select the best loan offer for your financial profile and needs
  • Variety of options — More lenders equal more options

  • Not direct — Not a direct lender
  • Small loan amounts — Maximum loan amount $10,000

Why Use

The process is pretty straightforward, but you still might be wondering what benefits you get from working with a service like as opposed to just doing it all yourself. Here are some of the points that I liked most about working with

  • Fast loan request processing

Unlike applying through a traditional bank, when you work with, your online request form is processed quickly. In fact, your loan request can be sent out to lenders instantly. Compared to the weeks that it can take for an application to go through bank bureaucracy, that’s pretty impressive.

  • Secure site

Another aspect that many people have expressed interest in knowing about is the security of online loan forms, so I’ll touch on that now. It is absolutely vital for a borrower to only go with a lending portal that has secure and safe platforms. uses the most advanced encryption technology to keep all of your information safe and private. Additionally, the site runs tests on a daily basis to ensure that the system remains secure and that there are no security leaks.

  • Auto pay and online payments

One of the features I liked the most about the lenders in network was the convenience of making payments. You can make all of your monthly payments directly online. No mailing checks or relying on the postal service, and no late fees because a payment got lost or delayed in the mail. Additionally, the lenders in’s network lets you set up autopayments for even more convenience. With this feature, you’ll never have to think about making your monthly loan payments ever again. Each month on the designated day, your bank will automatically send out the loan payment to your lender’s account. This is a fool-proof way to keep your loan repayments in good standing (and building your credit incidentally).

  • Bad credit

Most importantly, doesn’t limit its services to excellent credit. It works with people who have the worst credit scores, too. You won’t be turned down just because of poor credit, and that’s a major advantage for those who’ve been rejected already.

Alternatives to Review - EarninAnother option is Earnin. giving you access to your paycheck with no fees, interest, or hidden costs. With Earnin you can withdraw up to $100 per day from your paycheck before your paycheck is actually deposited. Once you connect your bank account with the app, Earnin just deducts the money you’ve already cashed out.

Earnin does not check your credit score – and in my mind, lots of reasons to go with them.
